Do you provide pet care only for dogs and cats?
We care for all breeds of dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, lizards, turtles, tortoises, snakes, and fish.
Do my pets stay in your home?
We provide care for your pets in your home. We do not board your pets at our location.
Are you insured and bonded?
For your safety and peace of mind we are licensed and all of our walkers and sitters are background checked, insured, and bonded.
How will you meet me and my pets?
An initial (free) consultation meeting will be scheduled at your home prior to booking services. This is an opportunity for introductions to you and your pets, as well as a time to access detailed care information for your pet family and your home. Please be prepared to provide two working copies of your house key to your sitter/walker during this meeting (along with payment if your services are scheduled to begin within a week).
Can you provide references?
A list of references will be provided to you at our initial consultation meeting.
Why do you need two house key copies?
We require two keys as we typically have two sitters and/or walkers work together to provide care for you. It is also helpful in case of an emergency where your regular sitter may become ill, have a family emergency, etc. so that care can be continued without delay. *All house keys are number coded, not associated with your name or address, and are kept in a hidden, locked safe when not actively being used.
How long is each visit?
We offer half hour visits and walks, hour visits, and 11-12 hour overnight stays. For services needed while you are traveling, we will customize any combination of these visits that will work best for you and your pet(s).
What is included in a visit?
Services included in pet sitting visits: companionship for your pets, exercise, playtime, feeding, medicines administered as needed, cat litter scooping, mail pickup, plant watering, trash and recycle bin placement, house checks, and any other reasonable requests. When we meet for our initial consultation we will customize our services to best meet your needs.
Do you charge more for exercising two dogs together?
We charge the same rate for walking up to three well behaved dogs from the same household.
What if I want you to take my dog to a nearby park for exercise? Will you do that?
Yes, we will. *A sixty minute visit may be required, depending on your proximity to a park.
If my dog is older and not able to walk well, can he still be exercised?
We have a variety of options to exercise your dog without a walk. Indoor games and puzzles will be offered to stimulate and energize your dog both physically and mentally. At our initial consultation meeting we will discuss options that will meet the needs, interests, and personality of your dog.
Will you visit my pet every other day?
In order to ensure the safety and well being of your precious pets while you are out of town we require a minimum of two visits per day for dogs and at least one daily visit for cats.
Do you administer medications? Is there an additional charge?
All of our sitters and walkers are pet first aid, pet CPR and safety certified. We are experienced and able to administer medications during our visits. We are also available to provide insulin shots and subcutaneous fluids to your dog or cat if needed. There is no additional charge for these services.
Will you share pet care responsibilities with a family member, neighbor or friend?
In order to properly manage the quality of care provided to your pets we do not share care responsibilities with individuals outside of our Four Footed Fitness team. We are trained to work together as a team utilizing our training and expertise to react appropriately to any unexpected events and/or health concerns to provide the highest level of care for your pets.
How far in advance do I need to book services?
The more notice you can provide to us, the better, especially during holiday weeks, school breaks, and summer months as we do reserve time on a first come first serve basis. For new clients we recommend at least two weeks advance notice to allow time to set up an initial meeting prior to providing service. We do understand unexpected events happen and we will always do our best to accommodate shorter notice needs, whenever possible.
How and when do I pay for services?
Payment is required no later than the start of pet sitting services or on the first of each month for dog walking services. Payment options include online payment through your client portal using a debit card, bill pay through your own bank, payment through Zelle, check, or cash.
What if I need to cancel?
If your plans change we do ask that you notify us as soon as possible so that we may reschedule the time we have reserved for you to provide service for another client. *For cancellations with less than twenty four hours notice the regular visit(s) rate will be charged.
Will I be able to request services online?
Yes. You will have your own client portal where you can request services, edit pet and house care information as needs change, upload photos of your pets, and make payments.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and debit card payments through your client portal.
